At Crazy Domains, protecting our customer’s information remains top priority, and we’re committed to being fully transparent about any issues that may arise.

Between January 2025 and December 2025 and then subsequently in March 2026, we ran promotional campaigns where select users were provided with a complimentary .ONLINE domain name and along with it a privacy service to keep registered user information private in the public WHOIS records.

We have recently identified that in an isolated number of cases; there was a delay in the privacy service being activated for that domain which caused your registered contact information with Crazy Domains including postal addresses and phone number to be visible on the public WHOIS database for a period ranging from 2minutes to 180minutes without the user’s knowledge.

The exposure was limited to the duration of the lag period as stated above and no other sensitive data such as passwords or financial information were involved.

Recommended actions :

  • You can visit the WHOIS portal to confirm that your personal information associated with your .ONLINE domain name is no longer visible;
  • For added security you can choose to update your contact details to use business or role-based contact information where appropriate from your Crazy Domains control panel
  • Remain alert for unsolicited communications or suspicious activity

Affected users have been contacted directly via email with details of date and time of exposure. If you have not received an email, it is because you were not affected by this incident.

If you have any questions regarding this incident or would like assistance, you can reach out to us at [email protected] (24/7) or call us on 02 9042 0015 (8am-5pm AEST, Monday to Saturday).

Note: Select information being available through a publicly accessible WHOIS tool is a standard feature of domain name systems around the world and supports online accountability. There are a range of WHOIS lookup tools available. ICANN provides a registration data lookup tool that will display the results from the registrar’s WHOIS service unless anonymized or masked using a privacy feature that may be provided by the registrar either free of charge or as an added paid service.
