My Email Exchange account is locked

After 10 incorrect password or username attempts, the Email Exchange server will lock the account for 30 minutes. This security feature is to protect your account from hackers.

To unlock an Account on Exchange 2016

If you are using Exchange 2016, you can unlock an Account by following these steps:

  1. Click on My Account at the top of this page.
  2. Ensure that Account Manager is selected.
  3. Enter your username and password and click Log In.
  4. Click on the Visit My Account button.
  5. Click on Email in the menu bar at the top of the page.
  6. Click on the Email Exchange you wish to manage.
  7. From the management page, click on the orange Control Panel button.
  8. Enter your Exchange Manager username and password and click Log In.
  9. On the Exchange home screen, click on Users (User Organization) under Hosted Organization.
  10. Select the user with the locked account under Display Name.
  11. Deselect the Account is locked out option.
  12. Click Save Changes.

Congratulations! You have just unlocked your account on Exchange 2016.

To unlock an Account on Exchange 2013

You can unlock an Account by following these steps:

  1. Click on My Account at the top of this page.
  2. Ensure that Account Manager is selected.
  3. Enter your username and password and click Log In.
  4. Click on the Visit My Account button.
  5. Click on Email in the menu bar at the top of the page.
  6. Click on the Email Exchange you wish to manage.
  7. From the management page, click on the orange Control Panel button.
  8. Enter your Exchange Manager username and password and click Log In.
  9. On the Exchange home screen, click on Users in the left menu.
  10. Select the User from the Username column.
  11. Change the Login Status below from Locked Out to Enabled.
  12. Click Update.

Congratulations! You have just unlocked your account on Exchange 2013.
