How to manage hosting account subdomain

A subdomain could be as crucial as a primary domain. Once set up, it can stand on its own. It is only fitting that careful handling is applied. Whether you have to create, view and modify subdomains, it’s possible within the Hosting Manager. It requires less to no technical skills to manage one.

Access Subdomains Page

Access the subdomains page to create, view, and modify a subdomain altogether. Here are simple instructions to help you do so:

  1. Click on My Account at the top of this page.
  2. Select Hosting Manager from the drop-down menu.
  3. Enter your username and password, and click Log In.
  4. On the Home page, click on Domains or the [ v ] arrow symbol on the right side.
  5. Click the Subdomains icon next to the Addon Domains icon.
    You will be redirected to the Subdomains page.

Important Note: If you wish to manage your subdomains, do not exit the Subdomains page.

Create a Subdomain

If you wish to create a subsection for your website, follow these steps:

  1. On the Subdomains page, scroll down to Create a Subdomain.
  2. Enter the following on the appropriate fields:
    Subdomain The subsection name.
    Domain Select the primary domain you prefer the subdomain to be an extension of.
    Document Root The specific pathway for your subdomain. Usually generated by the system.
  3. Click on the Create button.
  4. Click on Go Back to return to the Subdomains page.

Edit Document Root

If you wish to edit the document root of your subdomain, follow these steps:

  1. On the Subdomains page, scroll down to Modify a Subdomain.
  2. Look for the subdomain you wish to modify and click on Edit Document Root or the pencil icon on its right side.
  3. Enter the appropriate pathway in the Document Root field.
  4. Click on the Change button.
  5. If you wish to return to the Subdomains page, click Go Back.

Manage Redirection

If you wish to add or disable a redirection, follow these steps:

  1. On the Subdomains page, scroll down to Modify a Subdomain.
  2. Look for the subdomain you wish to modify and click on Manage Redirection or the arrow icon on its right side.
  3. From here, you can add or disable redirections:
       
    1. To Add, enter the complete website address that your subdomain redirects to, then click Save.
    2. To Disable, click on the Disable Redirection button.
  4. If you wish to return to the Subdomains page, click Go Back.

Remove Subdomain

If you wish to permanently delete a subdomain, follow these steps:

  1. On the Subdomains page, scroll down to Modify a Subdomain.
  2. Look for the subdomain you wish to modify and click on the Trash icon on its right side.
  3. Click Delete Subdomain to permanently remove subdomain.
  4. If you wish to return to the Subdomains page, click Go Back.
