How to create contact in OWA and Outlook

Mail Contacts contain data about people or organisations existing outside your Exchange organisation. These can appear in your shared address book and other address lists, and can also be added as members in your distribution groups.

You can create or add contacts through the Outlook Web App (OWA), which is accessed on a browser, or through the Outlook software installed in your computer.

Create a New Mail Contact in OWA

To create a Mail Contact in OWA, follow the instructions below:

Step 1. Log in to your Outlook Web Access.
Step 2. Click on the extended menu icon at the top-left section of the page then select People.

Step 3. From the top menu, click New.

Step 4. Enter the necessary information and click Save.

Note: You can also create a Mail Contact in OWA directly from messages. Simply click on the message in the message list pane, right-click on the senders name or email address, click view details, then click Add.

Congratulations! You have now created a new Mail Contact in OWA.

Create a New Mail Contact in Outlook

To create a Mail Contact in Outlook, follow the instructions below:

  1. Open your Outlook mailbox.
  2. From the bottom-left menu, click People.
  3. From the icons under HOME, click New Contact.
  4. Enter the necessary information then click Save & Close.

Note: You can also create a Mail Contact in Outlook directly from messages. Simply click on the message in the message list pane, right-click on the senders name or email address, then click Add to Outlook Contacts. Or from the icons under HOME, click New Items then select Contact.

Congratulations! You have now created a new Mail Contact in Outlook.
