What Is a Domain Name Backorder

A Backorder is a specialised service that attempts to reserve a Domain Name that’s already taken, expired, or deleted. The Crazy Domains Backorder system will scan and monitor the domain like a hawk, and aim to register it as soon as it becomes available.

If the domain expires within the time frame specified for your Backorder and the current owner does not renew it, our system will attempt to register the Domain Name for you.

Our automated system is backed by multiple servers and connections to ensure the highest success rate in acquiring your desired domain. Most of the time, however, Backorder follows a ‘first come, first serve’ principle due to the possibility that other providers are also attempting to process a Backorder for the same Domain Name.

What Happens if Backorder is Unsuccessful

The success of the backorder depends if the previous owner of the domain name you are aiming for deleted or didn’t renew the domain name. When neither of this happens, you have the option to renew the backorder service as long as you want and as many times as you want.

When availing and paying for backorder, you are paying Crazy Domains for the service of watching the taken domain name until it becomes successful. So, whether successful or not, there is no refund once this service is purchased. However, when successful, the domain name backordered will be registered free for one year.
