How To Manage Block and Allow Lists in OWA
The Block or Allow settings in Outlook allows you to control unwanted or unsolicited email messages that you receive in your Mailbox by creating a list of email addresses, users, and domains that you don't trust and you trust. In this article, you will learn how to:
Add Blocked Senders in OWA
Outlook will automatically filter emails from blocked email addresses and domains to your Junk Email. Follow the steps below to add Blocked Senders to OWA.
- Log in to your Outlook Web Access (OWA).
- Click on the Settings/Gear Icon at the top right corner of the page then select Options.
- Go to Mail, under Accounts click on Block or allow option.
- To add Blocked Senders enter the sender’s email address or domain in the text box provided and click the Add Icon next to the text box or hit the Enter key from your keyboard.
(Optional) You can select Don’t trust email unless it comes from someone in my Safe Senders and Recipients list.
- Click the Save button to apply changes.
Add Safe Senders in OWA
Outlook treats all emails from Safe Senders or Allow Senders as safe and trusted email addresses or domains. Follow the steps below to add Safe Senders.
- Log in to your Outlook Web Access (OWA).
- Click on the Settings/Gear Icon at the top right corner of the page then select Options.
- Go to Mail, under Accounts click on Block or allow option.
- To add Safe Senders enter the sender’s email address or domain in the text box provided and click the Add Icon next to the text box or hit the Enter key from your keyboard.
(Optional) You can select Trust email from my contacts check box to treat emails from any address in your contacts folders as safe.
- Click the Save button to apply changes.
Delete Blocked or Safe Senders in OWA
Follow the steps below to delete blocked or safe senders in OWA.
- Select the email address or domain from the list and click on the Delete Icon.
- Click the Save button to apply changes.
