Setting up Blackberry
A Blackberry device from any carrier can be used with Crazy Domains Email Exchange. The device should have v4.0 or later of the Blackberry OS (all current models meet this requirement). You also need to have the Enterprise Blackberry [BES] data plan on your phone. The standard or personal Blackberry plan may not allow you to connect to your account.
Once you have your phone (with the correct phone number on it if you are porting an old number to the device), contact your system administrator.
The access configuration will be added into our server and your account will be setup to allow you to activate your device by following the steps below. Your system administrator will provide you with an activation PIN for your account. Most new phones need to have the network provisioned. Contact your airtime provider to ensure the Blackberry APN (access point name) is present on the phone account.
- Select the Applications option on the front screen
- From the Main Menu select Options
- Select Advanced Options
- Select Enterprise Activation
- On the Enterprise Activation screen, enter your email address and use the password (activation PIN) supplied by your system administrator.
- Select Activate from the menu.
Activation will take several minutes. You should see the network activity arrows flashing occasionally and eventually it will start showing the steps of what it's syncing to the unit. Once it has completed a message will appear alerting you.
