FTP Stands for File Transfer Protocol and
is the most common way of sending files on the Internet.
Many organisations make software available on "Anonymous
FTP Sites". This is a computer that allows people
to log in anonymously in order to download files.
Fetch FTP is the most commonly used FTP program for Macintosh
Operating Systems, due in large part to its easy-to-use
interface, with lots of extra features.

Getting Your FTP Settings
You will need to have your FTP settings on hand in order
to use Fetch to upload your Website. Please check your
confirmation setup email for the following login information:
- FTP User Name
This is the user name for your hosting account.
- FTP Password
This your password for your hosting account.
- Website URL
http://www.yourdomainnamehere.com
- FTP Site URL
ftp://www.yourdomainnamehere.com

How to use Fetch

Open Fetch. If the New Connection window
does not open, click File > New Connection. Use the chart
above to determine the value to type in the Host box. Type
your username in the User ID box and your email/ftp password
in the Password box |

Click OK to connect. |

Once connected you will see a listing
of your account folders and files. Double-click a folder
to see the files in that folder. To transfer a file or
folder from your computer to your account, simply drag
the file or folder onto the Fetch window.

To transfer a file from your account to
your computer, drag the file from the fetch window to
your desktop or the location you wish to save the file.
To move up a directory in your account, click the drop-down
at the top of the connection window.

To end your ftp session click File > Close on the Fetch
menu. |
